Hiring their first-time Chief People Officer

The challenge

Triple Point were looking to hire their first Chief People Officer (CPO) to take their people strategy to the next level. This was a pivotal role in shaping the company’s people strategy, culture, talent acquisition and employee development.

Without having had someone in this position before, Triple Point relied on the expertise of Frazer Jones to define the role. This involved detailing the technical requirements, salary and responsibilities.

We also needed to gain buy-in from all department heads on the necessity of the role. This required us to present the bigger picture to show them the potential benefits for the company and how it was an incredible opportunity to bring those to life and by hiring top HR talent.

The solution

Having worked closely with Triple Point to understand their requirements and construct the job description, we knew it was essential to find someone who not only possessed the necessary technical skills, but also emulated their five core values.

We went to market under a retained approach, beginning with profiling and market mapping as well as approaching our existing network. We directed our search toward current CPOs in the passive market, capturing professionals currently excelling in their roles.

The outcome

We found the ideal candidate with the first shortlist, and they were eventually offered the role.

A successful hire, the candidate stepped into the role incredibly well. They initiated a restructure of the people team, making strategic new hires to enhance the team and HR’s position in the business.
