Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Location: Suffolk County, Long Island, NY (relocation available)

Employment Type: Full-time, On-site

Salary Range: $85K-105K + Bonus

On plant manufacturing industry experience required.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to provide HR support and strategic partnership to assigned client groups. This role will be key in aligning HR services with business objectives and operational priorities, driving the company’s HR policies and processes to support organizational success. As an HRBP, you will serve as a trusted advisor, offering expert guidance on employee relations, talent management, training, compensation, benefits, staffing, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Support & Employee Relations:

  • Partner with management to understand business needs and resolve HR-related issues, including employee relations, compensation, and organizational policies.
  • Conduct investigations and resolve matters regarding employee complaints, suggestions, and management inquiries.
  • Guide management through formal disciplinary actions, including terminations, while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Oversee employee transfers, conduct exit interviews, and recommend actions to improve employee relations.

Employee Training & Organizational Development:

  • Coach and train employees and managers to enhance performance and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement strategies for organizational development to support business growth and performance.
  • Design and deliver training programs to employees at all levels and manage the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Stay current with training best practices and oversee external contractors or vendors to deliver training programs.

Staffing & Talent Management:

  • Review resumes, assess candidates, and conduct interviews for direct hire, temporary, and seasonal roles.
  • Provide input on hiring decisions, including salary recommendations and candidate selection.
  • Collaborate with management to assess staffing requirements and fill open positions.
  • Partner with staffing agencies when necessary to support talent acquisition.

Compensation, HRIS, and Benefits Administration:

  • Work with management and compensation teams to recommend salary offers and promotions, assisting with the annual compensation process.
  • Maintain HRIS systems and ensure accurate data entry, processing personnel transactions, and assisting with HR reporting and metrics.
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding benefits, leave processes, and company accommodations.
  • Liaise with the Leave of Absence (LOA) Administrators to assess and make determinations on employee cases.
  • Identify opportunities to improve attendance and LOA processes.

HR Leadership, Special Projects & Business Initiatives:

  • Serve as a backup to the Head of HR and oversee the HR team as needed.
  • Lead and manage HR initiatives, business process improvements, and projects with external partners or agencies.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, training, or talent development, preferably in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (SAP SuccessFactors, Concur) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and labor laws.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong ability to build relationships, manage expectations, and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, manage ambiguity, and influence decision-making across teams.
  • Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely to both leadership and staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
