Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled HR Manager to develop and implement our HR strategy, ensuring alignment with the firms‘ business and cultural objectives and values.

Key Responsibilities

HR Management

Strategic HR Leadership:

· Collaborate with the CEO, Head of Operations, and relevant departments to implement the firms HR strategy.

· Contribute to the strategic planning process by advising on talent management, succession planning, and workforce development.

· Develop and execute plans to promote diversity, equality, and inclusion aligned with company values.

· Act as a trusted advisor on HR matters to key stakeholders, including employee relations, recruitment, and retention.

Employee Life Cycle Management:

· Oversee the entire employee life cycle, from recruitment and onboarding to development, retention, and offboarding.

· Manage staff absence and leave, including sickness, maternity, paternity, and health-related matters.

· Support the leadership team with performance reviews, ensuring participants are well-briefed and trained.

· Lead the salary and bonus review processes, ensuring fairness and consistency.

Compliance and Reporting:

· Ensure compliance with employment law, professional standards, and internal policies.

· Provide accurate and timely reports on HR, payroll, and learning and development.

· Develop and implement effective HR policies and procedures.

Barrister Recruitment, Pupillage and Work Experience

· Support CEO, Practice Director and Recruitment Committee on barrister lateral hire recruitment.

· As ‚Pupillage Secretary‘, provide full-service liaison and support for the pupillage recruitment life cycle.

Stay informed and up to date on Equality, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) initiatives, ensuring alignment with the firm’s goals, and implement inclusive hiring practices that promote a diverse workforce.

Skills and Experience Required

· Proven experience as an HR practitioner in an SME or corporate environment, ideally within professional services

· Strong knowledge of employment law, HR practices, and employee relations.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation.

· Experience managing the full employee life cycle, including performance reviews and implementing incentive schemes.

· Analytical skills to review HR data and identify trends, coupled with sound judgment and discretion.

· Familiarity with HR systems, ideally People HR software, and database management.

· Proven ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload efficiently.

Qualifications

· Graduate qualification with CIPD or equivalent certification.

· Extensive experience in HR generalist or business partnering roles.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
