Our client is a London based Law firm! This firm has grown a lot, and now they have over 140 lawyers who help clients with all sorts of legal stuff. They work on things like buying and selling companies, helping with money matters, and dealing with legal problems in court. Their clients are from all sorts of businesses, like medicine, tech, and real estate.

Job Title: HR Advisor

About the Team:

You’ll be part of a team that helps all the people who work at the firm! The team includes the Head of HR, other HR Advisors, and people who help with things like hiring new graduates. You’ll work closely with another HR Advisor to make sure everyone in the London office gets the HR support they need. You’ll have your own groups of people to look after, and you’ll also get to work on projects that help the whole office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Be a Helper: You’ll be the go-to person for employees and managers with HR questions.
  • Solve Problems: You’ll help manage any issues that come up with employees, with support from the Head of HR.
  • Keep Things Running: You’ll help with everyday HR tasks.
  • Help with Reviews: You’ll help with the yearly review process for staff.
  • Welcome New People: You’ll do interviews when people join or leave the firm.
  • Help with Life Events: You’ll manage things like maternity and paternity leave.
  • Check In: You’ll help with the probation process for new starters.
  • Manage Time Off: You’ll help with tracking time off and creating plans.
  • Help with Hiring: You’ll help hire new lawyers and support staff.
  • Work on Projects: You’ll get to work on different HR projects.
  • Use HR Systems: You’ll help with using the firm’s HR system.
  • Update Rules: You’ll help keep the firm’s HR rules up-to-date.
  • Help with Diversity: You’ll help with the firm’s plans to make the workplace more diverse and inclusive.
  • Other Tasks: You’ll do other tasks that fit within the job.

What You Need:

  • You should know a lot about HR, ideally from working in a law firm or other professional services company
  • You should be good at helping people and giving them advice.
  • You should have had experience dealing with employee issues at all levels.
  • You need to be really organised and good at managing your time.
  • You need to be able to keep information private and handle sensitive stuff.
  • You need to be good at writing and talking to people.
  • You need to be accurate and pay attention to details.
  • You need to be able to do lots of things at once and stay focused.
  • You need to be good at working with people at all levels.
  • You need to be helpful and friendly.
  • You need to be flexible and able to adapt to changes.
  • You need to be able to take initiative and make good decisions.
  • You need to be able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • You need to be able to think of new and creative ways to do things.
  • You need to be a good team player.
  • You need to be good at using computers, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • It would be great if you have experience using HR systems.
  • It would be great if you have a CIPD qualification (a professional HR qualification) or a degree in HR.
