Head of HR

About the role..
An exciting time to join the organisation you will be the Head of HR reporting into the Chief People Office supporting c 3000 employees across a London transport business. With two HRBP’s as direct reports you will be building a new HR offering and professionalising HR across the London side of the transport business.
The business is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic senior HR generalist operating at Head of HR or HR Director level to partner with the Transport Operations Leadership Team, serving as a trusted advisor on all HR related activity. The role will involve managing employee relations inclusive of partnering with external trade union organisations. Building on a talent management and development strategy, strategic workforce planning, wellbeing and reviewing and implementing innovative learning and development enhancements.
Both a strategic and operational role you will be oversee all HR activity across this side of the business alongside your HRBP’s and with the direction and overarching people strategy from the CPO. This role is a real opportunity to build a HR offering that works within this area of the business and will need someone operationally strong with an excellent employee relations experience.
About you..
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced senior HR professional excited by an opportunity to really get stuck into a new role that will allow you to develop and enhance a HR offering. You must have experience working across a unionised environment as a HR generalist supporting dispersed workforces, ideally in a similar industry across transport or those with similar workforces such as construction, facilities, government etc.
Key experience required:
- Previous experience working in a senior level HR role and working with Senior leadership teams as a HR specialist.
- Working within a unionized environment, with excellent employment law experience across tribunals, TUPE and complex ER casework. The ability to build a structure approach to working with the Unions and supporting Managers with this.
- Experience using and analysing data to inform strategic decision making.
- Team management and ability to develop and support team members and work collaboratively with others. Being a Team player and willing to develop others to increase performance and engagement.
- Experience working across a similar industry with dispersed workforces.
Salary: £90,000 + £5k travel allowance, free transport + 10% bonus
Location: North West London, car or train routes available.
Hybrid working model: 3 days onsite, 2 working from home.
