Team Overview

The global people team is structured to provide the business with the talent, skills, and strategic support necessary for growth. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team delivers high-quality HR and recruitment services, interfacing seamlessly across all levels and driving innovation in the organization’s people strategy.
As a small function within a growing, entrepreneurial business, members of the people team must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be committed, agile, and self-starting, while upholding the highest standards of professional delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Advisory, Business Partnering, and Employee Relations
- Collaborate with colleagues to offer guidance, coaching, and support on HR matters, including talent development, recruitment, and contributing to the organization’s broader people strategy.
- Focus on supporting colleagues through mentorship, promoting continuous feedback mechanisms, and acting as a resource for career advice and development opportunities.
- Participate in and help organize the local Group Works Council, fostering positive working relationships with employee representatives.
- Play an active role in the resourcing team, ensuring fair work allocation aligned with development goals, and addressing workload concerns.
- Proactively suggest ways to support colleagues, particularly in areas of wellbeing and welfare, and advise senior management on potential people-related issues.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues through regular and effective communication to promote an inclusive culture.
- Manage employee relations issues, including performance management, terminations, conduct, and sickness cases, supporting both employees and managers.
Employee Lifecycle Processes
- Ensure new joiners have a positive onboarding experience.
- Lead HR inductions for new employees.
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR queries.
- Manage processes related to family leave, including maternity, paternity, adoption, and parental leave.
- Oversee the reintegration of employees returning from family leave, secondments, or long-term absences.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date HR data and manage all local contracts and employee correspondence.
- Handle all departure and exit procedures.
Learning and Development
- Collaborate with leadership and L&D colleagues to implement relevant training programs.
- Conduct training needs analyses, identify learning opportunities, and promote training programs.
- Support cross-office learning initiatives and coordinate regional and global training programs.
Performance, Remuneration & Benefits
- Assist with the annual appraisal, remuneration, and promotion processes, ensuring timely completion and capturing objectives.
- Attend calibration meetings and document key feedback and outcomes.
- Support the accurate submission of promotions and advise on promotion criteria and processes.
- Participate in salary benchmarking exercises with external suppliers.
- Address queries related to the appraisal system and provide guidance on setting objectives.
HR Projects and Initiatives
- Contribute to the Inclusion & Diversity strategy.
- Review policies in collaboration with the regional HR team.
- Stay informed about relevant legal updates.
Recruitment
- Manage recruitment processes in collaboration with senior stakeholders and the global recruitment team.
- Oversee the hiring of interns.
- Explore ways to promote the organization and identify diverse candidate pools to support DEI goals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role within a professional services or client-facing environment.
- Solution-oriented with the ability to manage complex issues from start to finish.
- A self-starter capable of working both independently and within a team.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic professional environment with a variable workload.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to offer solutions beyond the immediate brief.
- Comfortable working in a fluid environment.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel and Word, with knowledge of HR systems (Sage People is desirable).
