Payroll Analyst

Reports To: Payroll Operations Manager

3 days onsite – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday required days, some flexibility as needed.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Analyst. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in payroll processing and excel in utilizing advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and macros. This role involves managing payroll data, ensuring accuracy, and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage and execute payroll tasks, ensuring timely and accurate processing for various payroll cycles.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and macros, to analyze and manipulate payroll data.
  • Payroll Reconciliation: Review and reconcile payroll data, addressing any discrepancies and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Reporting: Prepare and generate detailed payroll reports and summaries using Excel, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
  • System Management: Work with payroll systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Implement improvements and updates as needed.
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve payroll-related issues and employee inquiries, providing clear and accurate information.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and suggest efficiencies in payroll processes to enhance accuracy and streamline operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and documentation, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing and analysis.
  • Excel Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong experience in VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and macros. Additional Excel skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of payroll practices, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing payroll data and reporting.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data and processes clearly.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
