Senior Payroll Officer – £40,000 – £42,000 – Royston
Frazer Jones are delighted to be working with a leading accounting firm based close to Royston. This is a permanent role and is offering and opportunity to grow into a Manager position in the next few years.
Our client offers hybrid working with 3 days per week required into the office.
The Role:
· Processing Clients Payroll
· Processing BACS payments
· Building and maintaining good relationships with clients liaising on payroll, employment and other matters, resolving client queries promptly
· A thorough knowledge and understanding of payroll matters and including current legislation
· Conducting compliance checks on a regular basis
· Processing starters, leavers, holiday pay, pension deductions using SMP/SPP/ SAP and SSP etc
· Issuing P45’s, P60’s etc
· Liaising with HMRC both in writing and on the telephone
· Calculation of tax and NIC contributions
· Dealing with auto enrolment, maintaining pension scheme records, schedules and payments
· Carry out RTI submissions and CIS returns
· Setting up and closing PAYE schemes
· Maintaining accurate and concise record systems
· Recording of time accurately on timesheets
· Dealing with client queries as they arise
· Collaborating with colleagues to plan work schedule.
Skills needed:
· Accountancy practice experience
· Strong people skills
