Alfredo, you joined Frazer Jones Amsterdam in September 2021, what drew you to the opportunity?
When I first connected with Frazer Jones, I had little idea what recruitment was or how it worked. I was exploring roles after having just graduated. But after speaking with the Amsterdam team, I was quickly sold on the culture, transparency, and people. From day one, everyone was incredibly welcoming and supportive. As I’ve grown in the company, I’ve realized this isn’t just unique to Amsterdam; it’s the same across all Frazer Jones offices worldwide.
During your time with Frazer Jones you have had multiple promotions, what do you think has been the key to your success here?
Starting with no recruitment experience, I was fortunate to be surrounded by incredible people who genuinely wanted to teach and support me. The team culture is built on collaboration and growth, and having leaders who invest in your career makes all the difference. They’ve provided guidance, trust, and opportunities, allowing me to continuously learn and take on new challenges. It’s been a team effort from day one, and that support has been key to my development. This has been true from working in both Amsterdam and New York.
In January 2025 you moved to New York, what inspired you to move over to the US?
I wanted a new challenge. Our presence in the U.S. is growing rapidly, and the opportunity to help build Frazer Jones further on this side of the Atlantic was too exciting to pass up. We’ve been in the New York market for years, but the chance to carve out my own niche, focusing on reward recruitment, was a huge draw. On top of that, joining an incredible team and immersing myself in a new environment made the move an easy decision.
What are some of the key differences between the Amsterdam and New York offices?
I expected major differences in culture and work style, but I was surprised by how familiar it felt. Despite not knowing anyone when I arrived, I was welcomed with the same warmth and support I experienced in Amsterdam. The energy in New York is fast-paced across clients and sectors, but the collaborative and team-driven culture remains the same, which has made the transition seamless.
What advice do you have for recruiters looking to make the switch to the US?
Make sure it’s the right move for you. Plenty of people in our company have made the transition from Europe to the U.S., so take the time to connect with them and really understand what the move entails. That said, if you’re considering it, go for it. It’s an incredible experience, and with the market and group growing rapidly, now is the perfect time to make an impact!
