Australian HR Awards: HR Teams of the Year revealed
A record 760 HR professionals attended this year’s annual Australian HR Awards in Sydney on Friday, 9 September. The winners of 19 awards were announced with the night’s most notable achievers including Sanitarium Health & Wellbeing, Deloitte and Johnson & Johnson.
Due to large number of quality entries, the Frazer Jones Australian HR Team of the Year category was divided into two awards for companies with less than 1000 employees and more than 1000 employees, giving more Australian HR teams the opportunity to be recognised.
Challenger Limited won the Frazer Jones Australian HR Team of the Year Awards (<1,000 employees) which was presented to Angela Murphy, Executive General Manager, HR.
Murphy said “It means a lot” to receive the award. “I think the team knows from the internal feedback we’ve had just what our hard work has meant, but it’s fantastic to have external validation as well,” she told Charlotte Perkins, Specialist HR Contract and Interim recruiter.
Deloitte won the Frazer Jones Australian HR Team of the Year Award (>1,000 Employees) and also picked up the award for the Best Graduate Development Program.
Reflecting on how the HR team has evolved over the last 12 months, Connie Hanson, Director of People & Performance credits the team’s success to some innovative practices which “We’re really proud of,” she told Frazer Jones Australia.
“I think we’ve evolved by being more innovative and really driving key HR strategies around wellness, inclusion, diversity as well as we saw earlier tonight the Grad’ program piece.”
