Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Temporary Sr. Associate of Payroll and Benefits to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring that payroll and benefits operations are executed with the highest level of accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll and benefits administration, a strong understanding of federal and state laws, and proficiency with payroll systems such as UKG.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process employee enrollments, terminations, changes, beneficiary updates, and disability claims.
* Coordinate workers’ compensation and unemployment claims, ensuring timely follow-up.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits and payroll vendors, as well as third-party administrators.
* Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients on payroll and benefits inquiries.
* Manage multi-state garnishments and maintain Evidence of Insurability updates.
* Review and process year-end filings, including W-2s and 1095-Cs.
* Set up and maintain Federal, State, and Local tax accounts across multiple states.
* Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
* Build and foster positive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
* Complete tasks efficiently and professionally, with excellent organization and prioritization.
* Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance.
Requirements:
* 8+ years of payroll experience, and 5+ year of benefits experience preferred.
* Proficiency with HRIS and benefits databases; familiarity with UKG is highly desired.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Canva is a plus.
* Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
* Solid understanding of federal and state payroll and employment laws.
* High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information.
* Ability to work well independently and in a team-oriented environment.
* Strong judgment, common sense, follow-through, and a proactive attitude.
